Fred Bawden victorious over his championship rival Juan Manuel Gomez.
British driver Fred Bawden couldn’t have been more satisfied with his F3 results. Victorious in Race 2, podium positions in Race 1 and 3, aswell as fastest laps in Race 1 and 2 gave him the overall win of the weekend. Despite winning Race 1 and Race 3, his championship rival Juan Manuel Gomez hasn’t scored enough points to extend his championship lead. In the end, Bawden scored 49 points total while Gomez achieved 44 points total.
Bawdens team owner and series manager Constantin Grimminger couldn’t be more satisfied with the results: “First of all it was great to see so many drivers on track. As usual, TR Motorsports dominated the weekend, but Fred [Bawden] gave them some hard times. Hope to see even more guys back on track for the US races!”, he stated.
But some other drivers captured attention by surprising results aswell. TR Motorsports owner Michael Teichmann just raced his second F3 weekend in Valencia, his first this season, and finished all races on P3. This did not only show his talent and skills, but also his motivation to show up for future races.
Last season’s team mate of Teichmann, Martin Jatzek, retired during first race just to defended off the whole TR Motorsports team in Race 2 to finish on a brilliant 2nd position.
By all the excitement we had during the Valencia event, we surely can be excited for future F3 races!
